WHO WE ARE - HOW WE STARTED

All Purpose Door Repair was a concept in the making before it became a reality. Founder and President, John Glasser, started in the glass industry working part time during his high school days. He worked for one of the industries largest glass manufactures.
In 1974 he graduated from high school and stayed in this industry working full time. During this time he saw a career opportunity and decided to become an apprentice glazier. The opportunity was with the Seattle Glaziers and Glassworkers Local Union #188, where he achieved his journeyman glazier certification. John spent the following years working in the industry as a glazier. In 1988, he decided to make the concept of servicing the doors he had been installing as a glazier a reality. He opened All Purpose Door Repair.
With humble beginnings and a small bank account, John approached new clients with one statement "If you give me a chance to repair your doors and you don't like what I do, you don't have to pay me." That statement of integrity started building John a clientele, which continues to grow decades later.

A family-owned business...In 1989 John's wife, Lisa, joined her husband in business. Only married three years and with a child on the way, Lisa brought her wisdom and experience in customer service, management, and organization. Over the years, the Glassers continued to grow the company as they watched their industry make many changes from doing business with the local business owner to being contracted by the out-of-state brokers for local service work. In 2008 after celebrating 20 years of success, All Purpose Door Repair became a second generation company. They welcomed the addition of their son, Andy.
